Password Management

Single Sign-On (SSO)

The objective of Single Sign-On is to achieve maximum user convenience by reducing the various login activities for end-users to a single login on Windows Active Directory. Having successfully logged in on Windows Active Directory, end-users will have automatic access to all the required systems and applications without having to log in repeatedly. Implementing the Enterprise Single Sign-on (E-SSOM) solution by Tools4ever in your organization offers a number of benefits including user convenience, security (end-users will no longer have to remember multiple passwords) and compliance.

Self Service Password Reset

By offering end-users the ability to reset their passwords and removing the task from your IT department, your systems administrators can focus on more critical issues. Tools4ever’s Self Service Reset Password Management (SSRPM) allows end-users to reset their own passwords after answering a few simple, predefined questions. The ‘Forgot my password’ button has been integrated into the standard login screen and provides support for multiple platforms, including Windows, Unix, mainframe systems, Novell and Lotus Notes.

Password synchronization

If you use multiple applications, multiple passwords are needed. End-users have to remember all these passwords and this where things tend to go wrong. Tools4ever offers end-users the ability to use the same password everywhere (Single Password). Using Password Synchronization Manager (PSM), you can have them use the same password for Active Directory and various systems and applications, even if these applications are located outside the company network (such as SaaS or ASP applications). When end-users reset their password, PSM will ensure that it is synchronized directly across all systems.

Tools4ever offers various solutions increasing the efficiency of the following areas of password management:

Password complexity

The default password complexity rules offered by Windows 2000/2003/2008 Active Directory provide only basic options. Systems administrators wanting to raise password complexity or control multiple complexity levels will find that the Tools4ever Password Complexity Manager (PCM) has a variety of possibilities on offer. Features include the ability to adapt password complexity for end-users in the Active Directory domain at the OU level by using policies.
